SKOHRboard's 2012 NFL Mock Draft Picks 41-44

Round 2 Pick 9 (41): Buffalo Bills select Bobbie Massie, OT, Mississippi
Buffalo thought long and hard about addressing their tackle need in the first round but went with who they felt was the best player left on the board. They can now address it and they do a great job here with Massie who is full of potential. He projects as a right tackle in the pros but has the skill set to some day develop into a quality starting left tackle in the league. But even if he doesn't the Bills will take the help where ever they can get it. - Joe-l

Round 2 Pick 10 (42): Miami Dolphins select Shea McLellin, OLB, Boise St
I expect McLellin to go earlier than people are projecting him and he'd be perfect for Miami if he's still available here. He is a relentless and versatile OLB who will thrive in Miami's system opposite Cameron Wake. People might want Miami to reach for one of the QBs here but I'm of the opinion that 2nd Round QBs are the ultimate compromise. If they are so great or talented enough to be a franchise QB why weren't they picked in RD1? I have no problem with developmental QBs but don't like spending a 2nd RD pick on them. Especially not for a team like Miami who has so many needs and likely a good chance to snap up a top QB in a talented class next year. - SKOHR

Round 2 Pick 11 (43): Seattle Seahawks select Alameda Ta'amu, DT, Washington
Seattle did sign Jason Jones in the offseason, but only to a 1 yr deal. Every team needs lots of depth along the defensive line and Alameda Ta'Amu will provide that for Seattle in year 1, with the potential to take over in year 2 as the starter. Alameda is big d-tackle that has a motor and can anchor the Seahawk defensive line. Combine him with 1st round pick Kuechly, and the Seahawk defense is greatly improved for the 2012 season. They did consider taking an OT at this pick after last year's 1st rounder James Carpenter was moved to guard. - Jim Mut

Round 2 Pick 12 (44) Kansas City Chiefs select Brandon Weeden, QB, OK State
Kansas City has a lot of talent on their roster, and they play in a very win-able division. However, they have a pretty shaky quarterback "leading" them out onto the field in Matt Cassel. Cassel was a big-money signing after one stellar year in New England, and I don't think I'm going out on a limb to say that that might have been due to the Patriots system and players. Weeden's biggest knock is that he will be a 29-year old rookie: he could be a top 20 pick if he was a few years younger. His skills should let him be able to be a day-one starter on the right team, and I think that Kansas City would be a perfect pick for him. He and Cassel are only 17 months apart, but Cassel will be making over $10 million a year while Weeden will be on a rookie contract. From a financial standpoint, this seems like an easy decision. Cassel doesn't even have much of an experience advantage over Weeden when you consider Cassel's career-backup status in college. From an athletic point of view, Weeden can make more throws than Cassel, too. The Chiefs could use a linebacker now that they are moving to a 3-4, and they could also use a big nose tackle, but Weeden would give them a much-needed boost on the offensive side of the ball.
