ESPN will be broadcasting the Masters in 3-D this year because they have nothing better to do. There are a ton of ways to use 3-D to make boring things cool but broadcasting golf in the third dimension is not one of them. It's one thing to do it and be excited about it but I feel like they are bombarding me with advertising for it. Perhaps it was just a clever way for ESPN to sell more ads and in order to make those ads work they have to remind everyone who has ever even thought of a 3-D TV that they should watch the Masters on one this year. I'm just having a hard time thinking that this will make golf any more interesting. I mean the ball is so small and it's not like they are going to shoot it so the ball pops off the screen like it's coming into your living room, so what gives?
Either way I'm still probably going to watch some of the Masters because it's a cool event and one of the prettiest settings for any sports competition. Oh and I will also continue to want a 3DTV.
